Plan ahead for birthday/holiday gifts. I also like to pick up games when they are at a low price for family game night. I also try to pick up a few to donate to my local school for prizes for their events, such as parent/child day.

Toys R Us: Crayola Crayons for $.25

One of the deals at Toys R Us this week are the 24 ct. Crayola Crayons for 4 for $1, making them just $.25. You need to buy 4 of them to get the price though.

You can always take the ad to your local Walmart or Target to price-match.

I love to buy up Crayons when they are at a low price as I use them for party favors for my kids birthday parties. I can often find coloring books at a low price and the kids love getting them each year. I sometimes use them to make a cute art/crafty gift basket for friends’ kids, too.

Toys R Us: Free Batman or Superman Lego Shield Event

If you are looking for something to do over Father’s Day weekend, participating Toys R Us stores are having a Free Batman/Superman Shield Lego Event on 6/16/12 from 2-4PM.

Thanks, The Freebie Blogger!

You may want to call ahead to be sure your store is participating. You can use the Toys R Us Store Locator to find one near you.

Shopping Warriors – Deals I Picked Up Over the Weekend

Part of understanding how to save money is to see how others find some deals and use their coupons. I’m going to try to highlight more of my shopping trips when I can, like I used to do.

These are a few of the items that I picked up while out Saturday and Sunday:

My First Crayola Product Markers $4 each
*Used $1 Off Target Store Coupon (It’s under stationery.)
*Stacked with $2 Off My First Crayola Product Coupon from their FB Page – gone as they went fast! (The $1 Off My First Crayola Product Coupon may still be available)
FINAL PRICE = $1 each

2 Revlon Tweezers $2.24 each
*Used $5/2 Revlon Tools Coupon (no longer available)

2 Nexcare Bandages $1.87 each
*Use $.75 Off Nexcare Target Coupon
*Stacked with $.55 Off Nexcare Coupon
FINAL PRICE = $.57 each

2 Packages of Star Napkins – $.47 each in clearance. The endcaps are great places to find deals!

2 Cooties Games $6.99 on sale
*Use $3 Off Coupon from 3/25/12 Playskool Saver Insert (or Printable Coupon)
FINAL PRICE = $3.99 each

2 Play-Doh 4-Packs $2.99 and Buy One Get One 50% Off
*Used $2/2 Play-Doh Coupon

Lalaloopsy DVD $9.99 on sale and Buy One Get One 50% Off (Sales could be regional)
*Used 2 – $2 Off Lalaloopsy DVD Coupons
FINAL PRICE = $5.49 each

I also picked up 2 Pinkalicious Card Games for $1.98 each. You won’t see them in the picture as I hid them from my kids as they’ll be gifts for them later.

2 – Paint Brushes $5 – Free after rebate
2 – Caulk Sets $8 – Free after rebate (3/25 was last day of sale)
4 – Paint Roller Sets – Free after rebate (3/25 was last day of sale)

I also picked up Burpee Organic Seeds as they were 40% Off. Our ad had them advertised as 20% Off but our store had them for 40%. Nice surprise! I found some pots for $2.49 on clearance, picked up 6. I’ll show you what I’m doing with those later this week. I think you might like the idea!

I happened to see an ad for an Ace Hardware Grand Re-Opening sale not too far from us. We were able to pick up 3 Craftsman Tool Bags for $3.99 each. (One was 10% Off at $3.59 from a coupon) These were normally $11.99 each. I’ll show you what I’m doing with these, too.  The things I purchased above will make more sense after that posting–More to come on those! Note: The sale on these is completely related to one store. Always keep your eyes open for grand opening sales as you can usually find some hot “loss leader” deals at them.

These purchases came out of my gifts and gardening budget. One way to save money is to plan ahead for birthdays, holidays and household needs. I set aside money each money to save on gifts year-round.

Hoping to have some grocery savings pics for you next week! Most of the deals above are still going if you want to look for them if you have the coupons.

UPDATE: There are several toy and board game coupons on Target’s site. You may want to check them out if you are heading out shopping this week. Thanks for sharing on the Coupon Geek Facebook Page, Lori! Included is a $3 Off Board Game Target Store Coupon for the Cootie, Memory, Candyland or Chutes and Ladders Game.

Also, here are links to some of the Playsaver Printable Coupons in case you missed them in the paper. The Board Game Manufacturer’s Coupon is there, as well. Stack it with the Target Coupon to get a total of $6 off Memory, Candyland, Cootie or Chutes and Ladders. Should make for a great deal!
