What’s New: How to Train Your Dragon 2 at IMAX

Looking for something to do over Father’s Day weekend as a family? How to Train Your Dragon 2 releases in theaters, including IMAX on June 13, 2014.

The IMAX 3D release will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience®, creating a unique environment that will make audiences feel as though they are flying alongside heroic Viking Hiccup and his faithful dragon, Toothless.

Here are a few of the “big names” in this film: Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, T.J. Miller, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kristen Wiig, Academy Award® winner Cate Blanchett, Djimon Honsou and Kit Harington.

I have heard really good things about this movie and I’m excited to see this one with the kids. I haven’t taken them to the IMAX yet and I’m thinking this is the perfect one to introduce them to the experience with as they’ll love watching all the dragons flying around.

What’s New?: Birds of Paradise DVD: Releasing Exclusively to Walmart on 4/1/14

There’s a new DVD called “Birds of Paradise” that will be releasing exclusively to Walmart stores on 4/1/14. The movie has several voice talents including: Drake Bell (TV’s “Drake & Josh), Ashley Tisdale (TV’s “High School Musical”), Ken Jeong (Despicable Me 2), Jane Lynch (TV’s “Glee”), Jon Lovitz (The Benchwarmers), Keith David (Free Birds) and Dallas Lovato (Snowflake And The White Gorilla).

The movie revolves around Jack, an ordinary sparrow that dreams of becoming something more. He is accidentally covered in colorful paint and believes he can now impress Aurora, a beautiful canary. Along the way, they’ll both learn that it’s not what you look like on the outside, but who you are on the inside that truly counts.

You can download an activity sheet and watch the trailer for this movie.

And stay tuned as I’ll have a giveaway later this week for two readers to win a copy of this DVD!

What’s New? – Pinkalicious: Eggstraordinary Easter Book

I love to give my readers a “heads up” when I see new things that have been released fairly recently.

I noticed that there’s a newer Pinkalicious book called: Pinkalicious: Eggstraordinary Easter.

I wanted to share as I thought it would be adorable to make a Pinkalicious basket for someone–all full of pretty pink items.

Here are some of the more recent Pinkalicious books in case you missed them:

Pinkalicious: The Pinkamazing Storybook Collection

Pinkalicious and the Perfect Present (I Can Read Book 1)

Pinkalicious and the Cupcake Calamity (I Can Read Book 1)

Pinkalicious Cupcake Cookbook

Pinkalicious: Pink or Treat!

What’s New: Lea Michele’s “Louder” Album – Releases 3/3/14

I know I have several readers that are Glee fans. I just wanted to mention that Lea Michele’s new album Louder will be releasing on 3/3/14.

You can pre-order the CD on Amazon for $11.88 and you’ll also get a MP3 version with it, as well.

There’s a heart-breaking song on this album called, “If You Say So” that’s a tribute to the late Cory Monteith.

What’s New? – Toy Story of Terror on 10/16/13 on ABC

Time for a “What’s New.” I just wanted to share this as I know there are a lot of Toy Story fans out there and if you are like me, you might not see too many commercials thanks to the invention of a DVR. I happened to see an ad for this while on vacation over the weekend.

ABC will premiere the next in the line of Toy Story flics – this time it’s just a 30 television special called Toy Story of Terror. It’s made by Disney-Pixar and has the same voices as the series, including Tom Hanks and Tim Allen as Woody and Buzz.

The show will air on ABC at 8/7c on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.

Hoping your Toy Story fans don’t miss it! Until then, you can check out the Toy Story of Terror Trailer on YouTube.

What’s New: Rise of the Guardians and More!

Rise of the Guardians is releasing to DVD/BluRay on Tuesday, 3/12/13.

Some stores will have the special Easter packs which sells not only the DVD/BluRay but also comes with a set of hopping Easter eggs. Here are some of the links:

~Rise Of The Guardians (DVD + Hopping Eggs) (Widescreen) for $17.98. Free Shipping.

~Rise Of The Guardians (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy + Hopping Eggs) (Widescreen) for $22.98. Free Shipping.

This might be something to consider for including in an Easter basket. I like to put some things like a movie, book, gift card, etc in ours and fill it with a little less candy.

We started doing a “First Day of Spring” gift for the kids instead of giving them a large gift for Easter to keep the holiday gifts toned-down and put more emphasis on the reason for the holiday instead of it being about gifts. They just get a small basket and hidden Easter eggs now.

If you are looking for book ideas. Here are a few of the latest releases:

Emeraldalicious for $10.74. This one just came out in January.

Pinkalicious: Flower Girl for $2.34. This one just released on 3/5/13.

Pinkalicious: Fairy House (I Can Read Book 1) for $3.99. This one released in January.

Doc McStuffins: Bubble Trouble: Includes Stickers! for $4.49. There were a few Doc McStuffins books that released in January.

Puppy Mudge Finds a Friend for $3.52. This isn’t a new one but a series that I highly recommend if you have a little one learning to read.

What kinds of things do you put in your Easter baskets, besides toys?

What’s New? – John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John Holiday CD

Any Grease fans out there? I thought I’d mention that John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John have reunited again and have put together a holiday cd that will release on 11/13/12.

It’s called, “This Christmas” and you can even check out little clips of some of the songs on Amazon if you want to see if it’s something you want to buy.
