Dear Reader Friends,
Today marks the 6 1/2 year anniversary of Coupon Geek blog. Back when I clicked that “Create Blog” button I anticipated having about 5 or 10 readers as I had created the site for my family and friends to follow so I could quit slamming their email inboxes with “check out this hot deal/coupon/freebie that I found!” Flash forward six and half years and here I am with over 200,000 readers. I am in shock. I am in awe. And my heart is full of appreciation.
So it is no surprise that this, my 20,859th post, is the hardest one I’ve ever had to write. Because when I click that “Publish” button, that is it. For it is with a heavy heart that I must share with you all that after much soul searching I have decided that it is time to say “Farewell” to Coupon Geek.
I know. Even I am surprised as I am typing this. But the truth is, I am not the blogger I once was and there are sooo many better “deal bloggers” than myself. My heart has always been in writing and not in so many time-sensitive posts. Back when I first started blogging, I shared many ways to live a frugal lifestyle and I miss those posts. And while I have tried to balance the deals and the writing, I feel like I am in a constant battle to get back to the way things were instead of moving forward. There’s just not enough hours in the day for one person to keep up with it all.
So instead, I am starting over. I’m gonna let all those other amazing deal bloggers help you find the “hurry and grab this fast” deals while I share the ways to change your life to help you save money long-term and find happiness in today. Because at the end of the day, I truly want every single one of my readers to be happy.
I am very thankful to all the bloggers who have helped me over the years. And I am incredibly honored for each time someone has linked up to my site or sent a new reader my way. And over time, some of these people, such as Zack, Alli, Jenn, Keri Lyn, Lori and Sean, have become some of my great friends. Those are the people that have kept me going all these years, offered great blogging advice and lifted my spirits when I needed to laugh. And to them, I give my utmost gratitude!
But my biggest thanks goes to every.single.one. of my reader friends. For it is you who have encouraged me to keep finding those deals, coupons, freebies and things to post for so many years. And for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
While it is hard to say Farewell to Coupon Geek, I am hoping that I won’t have to say the same to all of you. I’m hoping that you will continue to give me a chance over at my site Glowing Gazelles. I won’t be posting there daily but I will be sharing several new things each week. You can follow me through newsletter, RSS or Facebook.
And now, before I go, I leave you with one last thought. At the end of the day, make sure that aside from seeking out ways to save money that you also seek out ways to ensure your happiness–never let fear stand in the way of anything that can make you smile. And I hope that in some way I have helped you over the years!
All my love and thanks,
