UPDATE: This giveaway has ended. Winners will be announced soon!
I was asked to do a review on A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures and I was pretty excited when it showed up a few weeks ago. I had been wanting to make a special day with my kids and just do all of their favorite things and then end the day with some popcorn and a new movie. I honestly didn’t know much about the movie except that it was about a turtle’s adventures.
I have to say that I was incredibly pleased with this movie. It’s been awhile since I’ve really said that about a kid’s movie but this one definitely made me want to watch it again. It is a cute movie about a turtle from the day he’s born until the day he becomes a grandparent. They start the movie off this way so it’s nice to remind the kids of it later when he gets into a situation and they get nervous of the outcome!
The movie itself is just beautiful. I felt like I was actually in the ocean viewing the fish, dolphins, sharks, etc myself. They did a great job on the graphics. They also had some great music throughout the movie. I was hoping they actually had made a soundtrack cd for this one! And my favorite thing about the movie is that throughout it, they throw in little pieces of environmental education of how our actions can affect the animals. They were fairly subtle yet still strongly portrayed enough to make a statement. I loved that the kids are learning while enjoying a beautifully made movie.
I’m happy to say that Vivendi Entertainment has given me a copy of A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures DVD to give to the 2 winners of this giveaway. The DVD just released on 4/3/12 so you should be seeing it for sale at a store near you if you want to check out what it’s all about. I thought it was a cute movie that you could use for a fun family movie night.
