IHOP has brought back their Holiday Pancakes for the season, starting at just $4.99. They will be serving them through 1/1/12. Here’s a little info on the special flavors:

· Eggnog Pancakes: Get your eggnog fix — it’s only here once a year. Two fluffy golden pancakes are layered with smooth eggnog cream, spicy nutmeg and sweet cinnamon, crowned with creamy whipped topping, dusted with cinnamon sugar and then topped with butter-rum flavored sauce.

· White Chocolate Chip Mint Pancakes: White chocolate chip and smooth peppermint combine for the perfect holiday treat. Golden buttermilk pancakes are filled with white chocolate chips, topped with crunchy peppermint flakes and creamy whipped topping.

· Pumpkin Praline Pancakes:Enjoy the taste of spiced pumpkin pie without the fuss. Made with real pumpkin, these spiced hotcakes are covered with praline glazed pecans, drizzled in creamy caramel sauce and crowned with a creamy whipped topping.

After hearing about these special flavors, I decided I’d do something out of the ordinary for us and take the kids out for pancakes last week. They thought it was pretty cool that a restaurant had so many choices of pancakes. While they ordered off the kid’s menu, I tried the White Chocolate Chip Mint Pancakes. They definitely have a holiday flavor to them, reminding me a lot of a candy cane. I purchased a $25 gift card the day before, which earned me a $5 Off my visit coupon, a promotion they are currently offering during the holidays. I went all out and splurged and treated myself to a gingerbread hot chocolate. One word–Divine! It was a nice relaxing cup of goodness. I even had to take a picture of it when they served it because it looked so good:
