Giveaway: Wednesday’s Reading Day – Children’s Book Choice – 2 Winners

June 23, 2010

As promised, it’s Wednesday and I am giving away a children’s book choice (up to $20 to spend on children’s books on Amazon!) to two of my lucky readers. Each Wednesday through August, I’ll be doing this giveaway. It’s just my way of encouraging all of you to spend time each week reading with a child and sharing the love of books with them.

Over Father’s Day weekend, we decided to have our annual “backyard camping” adventure with the kids. Since they are too little to really camp elsewhere, we just pop-up the tent in our own backyard and “pretend” we are elsewhere. You can read more about our adventures under Backpack Treks.

So to get them ready for camping, I started reading them Turtle and Snake Go Camping
(which we found at our Library during their summer program) and Camping Out. I have to say that it really helped them understand the concept a little better and they were all excited when the tent was up and they thought they were going to sleep outside.

How This Giveaway Works
There will be two winners. Each winner gets to spend up to $20 on Amazon selecting children’s books. The winners can pick more than one book, just as long as the total value is $20 or less. The items must be in stock and ship free with Amazon Prime. I thought it would be fun to let the winner’s pick their own books than to choose a specific book to giveaway each week.

If this sounds like something you’d like to win, make sure you enter!

My kids and I are deep in our library’s summer reading program. This week we have been reading Dr. Seuss, Clifford, and a collection of books by Maine authors. We love Robert McCloskey! :)

We love the book Bear Snores On so this week we are reading 2 others in the series – Bear feels Sick and Bear feels Scared. The repeating lines help him to ‘read’ with me and makes him feel so big.

MY 3 YEAR OLD SON LOVES “GOD GAVE US HEAVEN.” THE POLAR BEAR ILLISTRATIONS ARE GREAT AND IT HAS GIVEN ME BETTER WORDS TO USE TO EXPLAIN THE RECENT DEATH OF HIS GREAT GRANDFATHER. WE’VE HAD THIS BOOK FOR A WHILE AND I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT IT. SO GLAD IT RESURFACED.

I am a new Email subscriber . I read a “pocket for corduroy ” to my grandson and “ten little monkeys jumping on a bed”. He is 10 months old and has a corduroy bear that he loves!
It rings me back to when his daddy loved those very same books!
