I am hoping that real soon here I will be down to just one in diapers. But the potty-training is going sooo slow. I just stay patient as I know that he’ll get it when he’s ready. (But if you have any tips that worked for you….I’m all ears!)

Jaycie,
Boys are so hard to potty train, but when we were going through it with our son we would let him run around without a diaper or underwear. For some reason if he didn’t have anything on he would go to the potty. It worked like a charm! It was summer time though. Also, once we started with the big boy underwear we never put him in pull ups again.
Hope that helps!
Thanks, Jenna! I’m going to put that on my list of next things to try.
This will work well at Walgreens next week. Huggies are on sale for $8.99 w/ $3 register rewards! Add the $1 coupon from the Children’s activity book (if you have it) and you have diapers for $2.99 a pack! Sweet!
So this is going to sound strange…but when you are in the middle of potty training, you’ll try anything, right? So our little guy was completely trained by 2 and this is what we did…we taught him to pee in the tub (after we were done bathing, of course.) We would stand him up and say, “Ok, pee on the bubbles.” He thought it was hilarious. He then got the sensation of making himself go. It helped so much!!! Good luck…being done with diapers is the best!
You know, I’ve heard similar things like teaching them to pee into a cup first. And you are right…you will try anything at some point!
Thank you sooo much for sharing! I never thought of trying it with bubbles.

Thanks for the printable coupon link! I recently started babysitting this week and even though I don’t have to supply the diapers for this price it’s a great deal anyway!
And I’m with Wichita Coupons above…at the time when my son showed his first interest in potty training he was barely over 2 years old and I had just had my daughter weeks before. I was nursing her when he said, “I wanna go pee!” AHHH!! It’s not an easy task to nurse a hungry newborn and take a toddler to the bathroom at the same time! We moved the potty training chair to the living room and stripped him down to absolutely nothing! 2 wet accidents later and he was using the potty! Just like that!! I used M&Ms to reward him with…1 for pee, 2 for poo. Worked like magic! We never used diapers again and never bought the first pack of pullups! After about a week or 2 when he had the idea down we moved the potty chair to the bathroom and we always done the potty dance when it was used all the way thru the house! Whoever was home joined in following one another like the train singing, “pee pee in the pot-tay!” I trained my daughter the same way when it was her turn last year…Potty training in our house was quite interesting!! Goodluck!!
After mine had shown interest for awhile I just went for it. I was off for a week and we put underwear on him and never went back (except at night). The first few days were a mess, but after a few it was great.
i babysit for a living and i use cheerios and fruit loops for little boys to aim at in the potty! you can even be creative and give out prizes for hitting different colors! for girls i use a sticker chart they love those star stickers everytime they set on the potty and go they get on on the chart at the end of the week they if they get a certain number they get a toy out of the box! hope ive been helpful
Ok, its called 3 day potty training you can google it for the whole scoop, or email me and i will send you the link. But in short, you leave him naked for 3 days, heavy on the liquids and salty foods to get him peeing as much as possible and dont leave the house
! You will be frusterated and ready to quit on day 2 (just a warning) but on day 3 you will see the results! After day 3 he is dressed and you can leave the house for short times, with frequent potty breaks but he will be potty trained and know when he has to pee (that is from the peeing all the time day 1-3 and learning the feeling and what happens)! He will have a few accidents but never look back, or you start all over again! You will need diapers for naps and bed time, but be sure to potty just before and when they get up! You can do it!
*just a side note if after 3 days it does not work, give him 6 weeks and try again! I have trained my 4 this way!
Hope this helps, and yes the diapers are on sale next week, great deal at Wags! Come check it out!
