So most of you are probably like us and rarely get out for that “date night” any more. So when I was offered an opportunity to try Romano’s Macaroni & Grill Restaurant Favorites meals, you better believe I said, “Yes!” Even though I knew it was coming, it was still like Christmas in my kitchen when it arrived! Not only did I get the free meal sent to me, but I also received a colander, serving spoon & cheese grater (everything needed for a great meal) and…are you ready for this…THREE coupons for a FREE meal! Yup THREE. This is so I could end up trying all 4 varieties. (The other varieties are Chicken Alfredo w/ Linguine, Chicken Marsala w/ Linguine and Garlic and Herb Chicken Penne.)
So I quickly worked this into my weekly meal plan. On Wednesday, I made up the Creamy Basil Parmesan Chicken & Pasta. The box says, “Ready in 20 minutes” and they aren’t lying! Everything in the box was labeled and it was so easy to prepare. I just followed the instructions and added some chicken to the boxed meal. I was getting so anxious for dinner as the time went on. It was looking sooo good!
So we sat down to eat and I felt like I should do a double take to make sure I was in my own kitchen. We don’t normally have something this gourmet in our house! (And by that, I mean premium ingredients such as such as vine-ripened tomatoes, select cooking wines, specialty herbs and 100% semolina pasta!)We are such simple people. And the verdict…Two enthusiastic thumbs up! In fact, I guarantee you will see this in future shopping trip pics! But the real test of great food…if there’s any leftovers, how does it re-heat. Most of the time they turn out clumpy and so greasy you don’t even want to eat it. I was highly impressed that it re-heated to the exact same quality and taste as the first time around! It made for a great lunch for me the next day. (I was actually surprised we had leftovers but there was just so much food!)
